this chair is so light and easy to travel with. my son can't squirm out of it either. I do wish it came with a case and I wish the fabric was removable for washing. Other than that, this is an amazing invention!!!

So great! and yet...

We are parents of twin boys and have loved our Me Too chairs. It has made restaurant visiting and traveling to the grandparents house for dinner so much easier. I agree with some other reviewers though that it has a tendency to open up when carrying and would benefit from a case. I wish the fabric was removable, and that tightening/untightening was easier than it is and not so time consuming. More than that I'm disappointed to find that I have to actually buy two more now after about 6 months because I can't use them any more and understand from Phil & Teds that there are no replacement parts for the screws and clamps that are now stripped from use. I guess if you didn't have to use them as much as we did then I would have give them a higher rating.

Can't live without it!

This chair is the most fantastic item we have purchased and have received as a gift. We recently went to Germany for the holidays and arranging for basics for our 1 year old twins was a challenge. Thank goodness we didn't have to worry about highchairs. These chairs attached to everyones table (without worry of scratches) everywhere we went. Especially restaurants, whose high chairs are usually broken. I can't recommend this more. You'll Love It!

Highly Recommend This Product!!!

The Phil and Teds metoo chair is fabulous! It fits on almost any table. It mentions in the instructions that it shouldn't be attached to glass table tops so that's the only limitation. We take it with us to restaurants so our daughter has something familiar to sit in and she loves it. We also use it on our breakfast bar and it works great because she gets to be almost as tall as mommy and daddy! It's very sturdy and safe. All in all we're very happy with our purchase!

LOVE IT TIMES TWO!
Reviewer: Anonymous , Grand Forks, ND

As a mom of twins I was looking for a chair that got the girls involved at dinner time and did not take up too much space. My 8 month old girls love being at the table. My husband and I can finally eat a meal without each holding a baby. The chairs are easy to move if I need to but they will now be a our everyday high chairs. My three year old thinks they are cool too!

Superb portable highchair
Reviewer: Anonymous , Denver, CO

This travel high chair was recommended to me by a friend who has used it in her house in lieu of a larger version. I have been extremely pleased with the high chair, the small size when collapsed and how sturdy it is when
secured on a table or counter. I definitely recommend this to other parents seeking a compact, easily cleanable travel high chair.

Simple and useful

This chair replaces a similar one that had begun to scratch our table top. This chair is very secure and coupled with the padded feet hasn't moved on the table and hasn't made any new marks. The design is simple and strong. The only design flaw I've noticed is that the part you twist to tighten up the chair to the table is like a large nut with two wings and it can twist tight with one of the wings sticking into the path of the child's legs. My son has bumped his knee and thigh on in while getting in and out of the chair

LOVE THIS CHAIR
Reviewer: Anonymous , Harrisburg, PA

We purchased one of these for our small kitchen and our baby sat with us (6 mos up until age 3) with this chair. It's great. We loved it so much we bought another for my parent's kitchen counter. We never ever purchased a regular high chair and never needed to. We have used it at restaurants, overnights with friends, etc. Easy to clean. We have the old version with the belt strap but never even really used it until he was old enough to want to climb out of it. Highly recommend this one.

ALMOST perfect

I'm on my third Me Too chair, and have given several as gifts. We have one permanently on the kitchen table, and another in the passenger seat map pocket in the car. Obviously, we love it. BUT... it needs a few changes: a simple, handled, carrying case (as another reviewer states, it's prone to opening up and at the least convenient moment), for one. It also needs a little pocket of some sort on the back to hold the baby's spoon and bib. Also, the 5-point harness is a big pain in the neck and completely unnecessary. The simple lap strap was perfectly adequate. No one has ever come close to falling out, and we're on our 3rd child using the chair. I actually cut the straps off the first one, entirely, as my 2-year-old wasn't attempting to climb out, and the straps were just in the way.
No, you can't use it on pedestal, glass, or other "unstable tables." But you can use it on almost all restaurant tables, including the kind that are attached to the wall, and on picnic tables, which makes it great for stopping at a park instead of a fast-food joint on family road trips! : )

I purchased the Me Too for my 7 month old. This is a great product, it folds down so thin that I can actually slip it into the diaper bag. It's light weight and sets up quickly. We take this everywhere we go out to eat. Our son loves that he is right there at the table with us!

Real easy chair
Reviewer: Anonymous , Baltimore, Maryland

This is the roomiest, safest, lightest, most compact and well made portable high chair on the market. I miss the sassy seat I had 20 years ago, but all the others are either too small, or too awkward, or too heavy or too hard to fasten on the table or won't accomodate most tables. I bought and returned two other brands! I ended up buying two of these: one for me, the grandmother and one for my daughter's car.

Baby loves it!
Reviewer: Allison Wilkening , Meridian, MS

We use the chair mainly at home on our bar that we use for eating at. It is easy to clean and looks very cool. I disliked the extra space a regular highchair requires and have found that the simplicity of the Me Too is also a huge advantage to a highchair. The highchair we used before the Me too was so cushiny and the seat was on some sort of incline. Eli never looked comfortable. There were all sorts of options. We didn't find any of them helpful and much prefer the Me Too. However... we have yet to find a restaurant that the chair can work at because most of the tables don't have four legs. The wooden chairs provided are just as good and we have stopped hauling the Me Too around. Also one piece on ours has fallen off. We can easily screw it back on, but have thought we lost it a number of times. Even with these drawbacks, we would buy this chair again and again. It is one of our favorite things.

The best!!!

I bought this because I was sick of cleaning our "big" highchair. This is perfect for my 15 month old on our granite breakfast bar. I like it because it is so easy to clean, and it is cute too! It dries really quick, and wipes down easily too. I get compliments every time someone new sees it. Highly recomended!

A great chair!

I bought two, one for each of my 11 month old girls. It's super light, folds flat, it's hip looking (especially in black), and I am so glad I bought them! I would have given the product 5 stars, but it doesn't work with tables that have a lip on the underside. So far it hasn't caused a problem at restaurants, but it has while visiting relatives. We weren't able to seat the girls at my family's table, but their kitchen's granite counter top island worked perfectly! I would definitely recommend this product!

Does exactly what you want it to...
Reviewer: Anonymous , Toronto, ON, Canada

This chair is well-made and performs as you would expect.
Installation and removal is easy, the 5pt harness is great (and much more secure than restaurant high chairs), and build quality is good. In fact, the thick gauge of the aluminum tubes and box sections is comforting, yet the aluminum construction keeps the whole thing light.
One gripe: it should come with a small and simple carry case. The unit folds flat and very compact, but nothing keeps it from "unfolding" and the straps falling out everywhere can make it cumbersome. We use a flat mesh travel case but something like that should be included.

Awesome
Reviewer: Parent , Denver, CO

The Me Too portable chair has been great for the couple of months we've been using it. It just takes a couple of minutes to install on an appropriate table and is very sturdy and the baby seems quite comfortable (she even sleeps in it in a noisy restaurant!). We have used it in multiple different restaurants already as well as using it for a feeding chair at Grandma and other relatives' houses when visiting. I do wish it came with (or had the option to purchase) a "travel bag" but we just stick it in an old freebie bag we got from somewhere and it's quite easy to port around and keep in the back of the car.

A great portable chair!
Reviewer: Anonymous , Reading, PA
Date: July 01, 2006
I highly recommend this portable chair. It can be attached to just about every table, in fact the only table I've come across that it doesn't work with are those plastic patio tables that are too flimsy. We originally purchased this chair to take on vacation. We were flying and needed to maximize space. This chair proved invaluable, it fits easily in a small suitcase and folds flat. It seems comfortable, and my son who is a great climber can't escape the shoulder harness straps, so that's a huge plus. It also wipes clean very easily. We've used this chair at just about every function we attend since our original purchase for vacation! You will use this chair.

Love the Me Too chair
Reviewer: Anonymous , Wakefield, MA
Date: June 18, 2006
Absolutely love the Me Too chair! We have an island in our kitchen and it fits perfectly off of the side. The clamps are not deep like some others, so it takes up very little space. Our 10 month old gets to feel like part of the family, as he sits right next to us. Strongly recommend getting the placemat too. Easy to clean (no dishwasher), but rinses off easily and dries quickly.

May not be worth it
Reviewer: Anonymous , Birmingham, MI
Date: May 01, 2006
This chair seems to be nearly impossible to use. Whenever I've needed a portable seat, it would not work with the table at which I was seated.
Unless you have a table that meets the manufacturers requirements, don't waste your money on this. I will say, however, that when I could use it, I liked it, and it is really simple to carry and travel with.
Comments from The Staff:
Great feedback... the manufactuer does recommend that you use it with a 4 legged stable table. So... say you want to use this on a table with a single center base... not for you. As this is your child attached to the end of a table, always excercise caution, and use your best judgement. Thanks for the feedback!

It's Easy to Bring Baby Too with Me Too Chair
Reviewer: epinions.com , the web
Date: December 22, 2005
In 2002, my husband and I had our first child. Having our baby changed many aspects of our life, but we were adamant about not giving up one of our favorite hobbies -- dining out at new and interesting restaurants. But doing it as a family of three required some ingenuity and equipment! Our Me Too Chair is one of my favorite pieces of baby gear, and we use it at least twice a week.
Now before I describe it, I'll tell you that the epinions title of "hook on chair" is a misnomer. I had purchased several bulky hook on chairs before we came to Me Too, and I returned them all when I saw what a take-along high chair could be like.
The chair is a lightweight nylon collapsible child seat with a sturdy aircraft quality aluminum frame that clamps on like a vise, so you can feel confident that when you affix it to a table, it stays put. The nylon portion makes up the actual "seat" part and the aluminum frame forms the top back of the chair and ends in two arms that affix to a table. The underside of the arms are equipped with pads to prevent table damage, the bottom of the arms hold the vise grips and knobs. Although it sounds complicated, it's really very easy to affix. You place the chair on the end of the table, and turn the bottom knobs until the tops and bottoms of the arms clamp firmly on the top and bottom of the table, "grabbing" the surface. There is also a lap belt to keep your child securely in the seat. While the manufacturer states that young babies can use the chair, I waited until my daughter could easily sit up on her own before trying it. While the seat can support a child up to a weight of 40 pounds (for many years of use) the seat itself weighs only 2 pounds and collapses so flat, about an inch wide, I've often carried it in my diaper bag or packed it easily in the bottom of a carry-on suitcase. The fact that it's mostly made of nylon makes it very easy to clean up with a sponge and some soapy water, and dries very quickly.
This seat works on round, square and rectangular tables, but it's not recommended for pedestal bottom tables as they might tip. In rare occasions (such as at Chili's restaurants) a table may have a lip on the underside or is too thick for the chair to fit on the side. We have used it in many restaurants, but also on vacation at Grandma's house, at our own dining room table when more than one child needed a highchair and at friends' houses. I will admit that in the beginning, I would keep a regular chair underneath it wherever possible because I was nervous, but it's not necessary because this chair is incredibly sturdy and we have had no problems regarding our baby's safety. In fact, we are often stopped by parents while in a restaurant who want to know where we got it and how much it costs because it's so much easier to use than whatever version they have. The color selections are black, red, navy and royal blue, and all come with an excellent warranty. While on vacation, one of the pads starting to come off the chair arms, and we were worried about scratching my in-laws' table. We called the company and they sent us replacement pads and instructions for putting them on that same day. No charge, no problems. They couldn't be easier to deal with.
Now for the cons, which are few:
As previously mentioned, there are some tables the vise grip is not wide enough to clamp onto. Or a table may have a pedestal base or just seem a little too tippy to affix the chair onto. This happens rarely, but since the chair is so light and easy to tote, I always carry it. If it doesn't work, I go to a plan B. But Me Too is always my plan A.

Great for camper tables too!

We purchased our first Me Too chair in 2000 for an overseas trip for our then one-year old. That first chair has now been overseas three times, camping numerous times, accommodated children of guests, and is now on its third family. This is one of the best baby/child products we've ever purchased. As well as being durable and convenient it is really, really easy to pack and clean.
