A great chair!

Reviewer: Lisa , Glastonbury, CT Date: January 11, 2007
I bought two, one for each of my 11 month old girls. It's super light, folds flat, it's hip looking (especially in black), and I am so glad I bought them! I would have given the product 5 stars, but it doesn't work with tables that have a lip on the underside. So far it hasn't caused a problem at restaurants, but it has while visiting relatives. We weren't able to seat the girls at my family's table, but their kitchen's granite counter top island worked perfectly! I would definitely recommend this product!

Does exactly what you want it to...

This chair is well-made and performs as you would expect.

Installation and removal is easy, the 5pt harness is great (and much more secure than restaurant high chairs), and build quality is good. In fact, the thick gauge of the aluminum tubes and box sections is comforting, yet the aluminum construction keeps the whole thing light.

One gripe: it should come with a small and simple carry case. The unit folds flat and very compact, but nothing keeps it from "unfolding" and the straps falling out everywhere can make it cumbersome. We use a flat mesh travel case but something like that should be included.

The Me Too portable chair has been great for the couple of months we've been using it. It just takes a couple of minutes to install on an appropriate table and is very sturdy and the baby seems quite comfortable (she even sleeps in it in a noisy restaurant!). We have used it in multiple different restaurants already as well as using it for a feeding chair at Grandma and other relatives' houses when visiting. I do wish it came with (or had the option to purchase) a "travel bag" but we just stick it in an old freebie bag we got from somewhere and it's quite easy to port around and keep in the back of the car.

A great portable chair!

Reviewer: Anonymous , Reading, PA Date: July 01, 2006
I highly recommend this portable chair. It can be attached to just about every table, in fact the only table I've come across that it doesn't work with are those plastic patio tables that are too flimsy. We originally purchased this chair to take on vacation. We were flying and needed to maximize space. This chair proved invaluable, it fits easily in a small suitcase and folds flat. It seems comfortable, and my son who is a great climber can't escape the shoulder harness straps, so that's a huge plus. It also wipes clean very easily. We've used this chair at just about every function we attend since our original purchase for vacation! You will use this chair.

Love the Me Too chair

Absolutely love the Me Too chair! We have an island in our kitchen and it fits perfectly off of the side. The clamps are not deep like some others, so it takes up very little space. Our 10 month old gets to feel like part of the family, as he sits right next to us. Strongly recommend getting the placemat too. Easy to clean (no dishwasher), but rinses off easily and dries quickly.

May not be worth it

This chair seems to be nearly impossible to use. Whenever I've needed a portable seat, it would not work with the table at which I was seated. Unless you have a table that meets the manufacturers requirements, don't waste your money on this. I will say, however, that when I could use it, I liked it, and it is really simple to carry and travel with.

Comments from The Staff:

Great feedback... the manufactuer does recommend that you use it with a 4 legged stable table. So... say you want to use this on a table with a single center base... not for you. As this is your child attached to the end of a table, always excercise caution, and use your best judgement. Thanks for the feedback!

It's Easy to Bring Baby Too with Me Too Chair

5
Reviewer: epinions.com , the web Date: December 22, 2005
In 2002, my husband and I had our first child. Having our baby changed many aspects of our life, but we were adamant about not giving up one of our favorite hobbies -- dining out at new and interesting restaurants. But doing it as a family of three required some ingenuity and equipment! Our Me Too Chair is one of my favorite pieces of baby gear, and we use it at least twice a week. Now before I describe it, I'll tell you that the epinions title of "hook on chair" is a misnomer. I had purchased several bulky hook on chairs before we came to Me Too, and I returned them all when I saw what a take-along high chair could be like. The chair is a lightweight nylon collapsible child seat with a sturdy aircraft quality aluminum frame that clamps on like a vise, so you can feel confident that when you affix it to a table, it stays put. The nylon portion makes up the actual "seat" part and the aluminum frame forms the top back of the chair and ends in two arms that affix to a table. The underside of the arms are equipped with pads to prevent table damage, the bottom of the arms hold the vise grips and knobs. Although it sounds complicated, it's really very easy to affix. You place the chair on the end of the table, and turn the bottom knobs until the tops and bottoms of the arms clamp firmly on the top and bottom of the table, "grabbing" the surface. There is also a lap belt to keep your child securely in the seat. While the manufacturer states that young babies can use the chair, I waited until my daughter could easily sit up on her own before trying it. While the seat can support a child up to a weight of 40 pounds (for many years of use) the seat itself weighs only 2 pounds and collapses so flat, about an inch wide, I've often carried it in my diaper bag or packed it easily in the bottom of a carry-on suitcase. The fact that it's mostly made of nylon makes it very easy to clean up with a sponge and some soapy water, and dries very quickly. This seat works on round, square and rectangular tables, but it's not recommended for pedestal bottom tables as they might tip. In rare occasions (such as at Chili's restaurants) a table may have a lip on the underside or is too thick for the chair to fit on the side. We have used it in many restaurants, but also on vacation at Grandma's house, at our own dining room table when more than one child needed a highchair and at friends' houses. I will admit that in the beginning, I would keep a regular chair underneath it wherever possible because I was nervous, but it's not necessary because this chair is incredibly sturdy and we have had no problems regarding our baby's safety. In fact, we are often stopped by parents while in a restaurant who want to know where we got it and how much it costs because it's so much easier to use than whatever version they have. The color selections are black, red, navy and royal blue, and all come with an excellent warranty. While on vacation, one of the pads starting to come off the chair arms, and we were worried about scratching my in-laws' table. We called the company and they sent us replacement pads and instructions for putting them on that same day. No charge, no problems. They couldn't be easier to deal with. Now for the cons, which are few: As previously mentioned, there are some tables the vise grip is not wide enough to clamp onto. Or a table may have a pedestal base or just seem a little too tippy to affix the chair onto. This happens rarely, but since the chair is so light and easy to tote, I always carry it. If it doesn't work, I go to a plan B. But Me Too is always my plan A.

Great for camper tables too!

We purchased our first Me Too chair in 2000 for an overseas trip for our then one-year old. That first chair has now been overseas three times, camping numerous times, accommodated children of guests, and is now on its third family. This is one of the best baby/child products we've ever purchased. As well as being durable and convenient it is really, really easy to pack and clean.
